Southside Johnny: Upcoming Pony shows ‘a lot of work’ but ‘worth it’
It’s the most highly anticipated Southside Johnny concert in years: On Saturday at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, he and his Asbury Jukes will devote an entire evening to the songs of Bruce Springsteen — both songs they’ve played before, and material they’ve never previously attempted. The mix will be about 50/50, Southside said in an interview with NJArts.net, Monday morning.

The overwhelming response is partly due to speculation that Springsteen will perform at the show. The Pony posting says he's not going be there.
"The artist of the night is Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, and that is who will solely be appearing," reads the posting. "Thank you, and thanks for being a fan!"
Calls to Pony management for further comment were not returned.

Das Stone Pony Management geht davon aus, dass Bruce Springsteen am Samstag nicht auftreten wird. Interessante Liste. Der Auftakt ist aus dem "Adventures in Babysitting"-Film, oder? Mir fällt auf, dass "Walking through midnight" nicht gespielt wurde. Hat er das schon jemals live gespielt? Aber vielleicht hat er sich das ja für die Bruce-Nacht aufgehoben. Hoffentlich spielt SSJ jemals wieder südlich von Osnabrück

Ich hatte gelesen, dass Bruce am Samstag im Flughafen am Check-In-Schalter gesehen wurde, wenn es denn stimmt, dann ist er bestimmt wieder nach Florida zu Patti und Jessica geflogen. Freitag war Bruce ja mit Mutter Adele und Schwiegertochter unterwegs.

Östlich von New Jersey und wir kommen der Sache schon näher. Ansonsten: Stimmt, interessante Setlist, würde ich so auch gerne mal von Bruce hören.
